The R. Scheuchl GmbH has produced the world-largest rotary heat exchangers with a diameter of 6200mm.
In total eight of these Scheurutherm®-rotary heat exchangers are used in a newly built production site of FAW-Volkswagen in the Chinese city Changchun, located approximately 1000km north of Peking, in order to recover energy from the exhaust air of a paint booth.
In this new plant approximately 1500 cars per day are painted state-o-the-art on a complete paint finishing system which had been delivered by EISENMANN.
Each rotary heat exchanger recovers energy from roughly 230.000m³/h exhaust air. Due to the large diameter a special reinforced casing for the rotor had been developed. The rotating rotor matrix, which transfers energy, is carried out as solid spoke construction.
After the production of the Scheurutherm®-rotary heat exchangers in Ortenburg (headquarter of R. Scheuchl GmbH) a final inspection had been carried out by a delegation from China, Holzgerlingen and Wolfsburg. Afterwards the heat exchangers were transported to Changchung where they were installed and taken into operation by the R. Scheuchl GmbH.
The R. Scheuchl GmbH has been dealing in its division heat recovery for more than 30 years with rotary heat exchangers. Basically the company concentrates on industrial processes, such as paint booths or high temperature applications. Additionally the R. Scheuchl GmbH produces special machineries in the process engineering as well as decoring machines for the foundry technology.
