LDS-unit (arc wire coating unit)

The company Scheuchl was awarded by the BMW Group with the “Supplier Innovation Award” for developing the so called arc wire coating process.

With the arc wire coating process a thin steel coat is applied directly to the aluminum running surface of crankcases. This coat is clearly lighter than the used steel bushing. Thus, weight and consumption are reduced. The process was developed, tested and brought to series-production readiness together with the BMW Group.
