Combined units – adsorptive and thermal

In case that solvents in the exhaust air flow are only available in relatively small concentration, then these must be concentrated prior to the thermal utilization in order to reach an autothermic operating condition. The clean gas after the adsorber (concentrator) reaches the legal requirements. The concentrated airflow from desorption will then be cleaned by means of a thermal after-burning or a KAT-unit.

After the filter step, the complete volume flow of 11.000Nm³/h with a loading of average 820mgC/Nm³ will be pushed through the concentrator. The remaining concentrate then has only a volume of approx. 1.000Nm³/h and a loading of 1.500mgC/Nm³. This concentrate flow is oxidized at about 750°C in the thermal after-burning.
