Acetone recovery

At a pharmaceutical production process there is a nitrogen volume flow of 3.300m³/h which is loaded with Acetone. This acetone is removed from the nitrogen by condensation so that the gas can be re-used again. As to this, the complete volume flow is cooled down to -22°C. An effective droplet separator prevents, that aerosols are carried on. Then the coexistent cold- and heat recovery via cross-flow heat exchanger is carried out. A damper register heats the gas flow to the required outlet temperature of 75°C after what the nitrogen is led through a filter for suspended particles of filter class H13. The dimensioning, delivery and assembly of the complete refrigeration engineering was done by the R. Scheuchl GmbH. The design of this air conditioning was carried out according to ATEX-guidelines (inside zone 1, outside zone 2).
