Treating odours from paint shops efficiently

Conventional exhaust air purification systems are often not sufficient when odour nuisance becomes a problem. While compliance with VOC emissions and solvent limit values is standard, dealing with odours poses a challenge.
The process developed is based on specially formulated microemulsions that react with odour molecules and convert them into non-odorous substances. The diluted solution is introduced into the exhaust air stream by means of special nozzles. Olfactometric measurements showed an odour reduction of between 60 and 80 percent.
Optimal mixing takes place in a specially developed treatment chamber. This development was made possible through cooperation with R. Scheuchl GmbH, which possesses extensive experience in the construction of exhaust air purification systems.
