Reduction of Weight and Consumption Through a Thin Steel Coating
Using the arc wire spraying process, a thin steel layer is sprayed directly onto the cylinder running surface of an aluminium crankcase. The coating is lighter than conventionally inserted cylinder liners. This results in both a weight reduction and more efficient fuel consumption.
