Acetone recovery

Reference project

Project description
In a pharmaceutical production process, a nitrogen volume flow of 3,300 m³/h laden with acetone had to be treated. The acetone is removed from the gas by condensation so that the nitrogen can be reused.
Technical implementation
The entire volume flow is cooled down to as low as -22 °C. An effective droplet separator prevents the entrainment of aerosols. Cold and heat recovery then takes place by means of a cross-flow heat exchanger.
A heating register heats the gas stream to the required outlet temperature of 75 °C. The nitrogen is then passed through a HEPA filter of filter class H13.
Implementation by R. Scheuchl GmbH
The design, supply and installation of the entire refrigeration technology were carried out by R. Scheuchl GmbH. The execution was carried out in accordance with ATEX directives (inside Zone 1, outside Zone 2).
