Band Saw Station with Traversing Slide for Cylinder Heads

Description

In the field of sawing operations on band saws, R. Scheuchl GmbH can offer multi-axis, customer- and casting-specific traversing units both as individual components and as complete machining plants.

The range of application extends from sawing off ingates on crankcases and separating feeders on cylinder heads to saw cuts for separating double castings. In principle, all other technically feasible sawing operations are also possible, since the traversing concept from R. Scheuchl GmbH is always specifically adapted to your requirements.

The band saw station shown here consists of a robot-loading band saw traversing slide unit as well as the required infeed and outfeed roller conveyors. For noise protection reasons, the entire plant is also located in a soundproof enclosure. The traversing slide consists of two cylinder head fixtures that can pivot by 90 degrees, thus enabling a saw cut to separate the feeder located on top. Loading and unloading are carried out fully automatically by robot. A camera detection system is used to precisely determine the casting position. The recirculated material accumulating at the sawing unit is discharged via guide plates to the conveyor system running below.

Technical Data

  • Casting types: Crankcases, cylinder heads, casting nodes, chassis parts and many more
  • Pivoting range of the support: depending on requirement (here: 90 degrees)
  • Traversing distance: requirement-dependent (here: approx. 1,400 mm)
  • Loading/unloading: requirement-dependent (here: robot)
  • Sawing operations: Sawing off the feeder located on top (cylinder head), separating cuts (e.g. double casting), sawing off ingates and many more
