Regenerative thermal oxidation

A regenerative thermal oxidation system (RTO) offers high thermal efficiency for the efficient cleaning of lightly loaded exhaust air streams.

The pollutant-laden exhaust air flows through several heat accumulators (regenerators) with ceramic honeycomb bodies inside. By cyclically switching the heat accumulators and changing the direction of flow, heat energy is added or removed. In this way, “thermal efficiencies of up to 97 %” can be achieved.
